My Right to Join is a project supporting women leader’s political participation in Cairo and other governorates in several different political structures, including political parties, trade unions, student unions and all organizations promoting democracy.

In 2016, we trained about 80 participants about leadership skills on consensus-building across party committees, internal conflict management, effective communication strategy development, and negotiation skills. In groups, the participants created gender-mainstreaming strategies and action plans to strengthen women’s committees and women’s participation in internal decision-making processes within their parties. Trainees also worked on recommendations for increasing the number of female party members, supporting women candidates running for local council elections, and assisting women MPs within parliament.
